X/DC Communications includes TCP/IP communications, Web server framework, Web Services support and a monitor program that starts, stops and monitors application processes running within X/DC. X/DC Communications manages the validation and transaction flow between devices and X/DC Server routing inbound and outbound XML messages to the appropriate location.

When using X/DC in client/server mode, if communications to the host are disrupted or lost for any reason, users can continue to scan and perform their work. Transactions are stored on the device and uploaded when communications with the host are restored.
