IntelliLabel- Label License Plating & Traceability

Radley’s IntelliLabel system provides additional levels of material control and visibility on the shop floor and in the warehouse. IntelliLabel is a container license plate/serial number system which may be used to identify a container (or multiple levels of nested containers) and its’ contents.

An IntelliLabel license plate may be created for an item or container of items at any operational point from material receiving, through WIP and finished goods completions, to shipping. When inventory is assigned to the IntelliLabel license plate, the part number(s) and other required attributes (quantity, lot, serial, date, etc.) are also linked to the license plate within the IntelliLabel database. From that point forward, any transactions performed using the IntelliLabel license plate will also update the assigned IntelliLabel inventory within the business application; there is no need to scan the individual inventory items themselves.

A single scan of the IntelliLabel can populate business system transactions with all of the inventory information (part number, quantity, lot, serial, etc). Manufacturing completions and/or back-flushes, inventory moves and shipment picks & verifications will all be streamlined by reducing the number of scans, thereby increasing productivity and minimizing data entry errors.

IntelliLabel also supports pallet building and container nesting utility. For example, a box of 12 lot and/or serialized parts may be assigned an IntelliLabel license plate. Then, that box may be one of 12 boxes placed into (and assigned to) a master carton with its’ own IntelliLabel. That master carton may then be placed onto (and assigned to) a pallet which has its’ own IntelliLabel. At this point, a single pallet IntelliLabel license plate may be scanned to track and trace the movement, usage and status of all of the sub-containers and parts within the pallet.

An IntelliLabel status (active, inactive, QA Hold, WIP, Build or Ship, for example) may also be assigned to each IntelliLabel, in order to allow or prevent certain types of operations from taking place. The use of IntelliLabel status can play a key role in error-proofing daily operations. The IntelliLabel database maintains a complete history record of the statuses and time periods for each IntelliLabel, providing full traceability for future reference.

Adding Radley’s advanced IntelliLabel functionality to an X/DC environment offers an end user the opportunity to devise any number of material handling process improvements without customizing the core business application.

IntelliLabel Features:

• Master, mixed, detail (nested) license plate labels
• Associates pallet/container IntelliLabel with warehouse, location, part, lot, serial, quantity, unit of measure, PO/Vendor and more
• Verifies pallet/container status: Active/Inactive, Assigned to job/work order/process, QA status –hold or available, WIP location, Shipment status - Assigned to shipment/confirmed/verified
• Tracks pallet/container from receipt through manufacturing to shipment

Sample Traceability Attributes:

• Raw Material Lot
• Receipt
• Movements
• Truck Temperature
• Weights (scale)
• Issues
• Returns
• Product Temperature
• Machine
• Operation
• Work Center
